AUCKLAND.

Thk schooner Aurora armed yesterday, having left Auckland on the 23rd' March, or two days after the Government brig Victoria. Information has been received by her to the effect that H.M.S. North Star, Captain Sir Everard Home, had arrived from Sydney with 220 troops on board. More, it is announced, were to follow—and on good authority we state, that Port Nicholson is forthwith to have a due compliment for its protection. The Aurora is under charter to the Government, and will return to-day or to-morrow to Auckland. We know not the object of her visit, but presume it is to inspire confidence lin the settlers, and to obtain the latest information, for the guidance of the Governor, j respecting the conduct of the natives in I Cook's Straits since they became acquainted with the disasters at the Bay of Islauds. I The only paper we have seen, brought by the Aurora, is a Southern Cross, dated 22nd March. It contains no additional information of importance. We are happy, however, to .find announced in it, that Capt, Robertson is going on favourably ; two balls have been extracted, and it is hoped that very soon he may be relieved from another, lodged in a more dangerous part. He is stated to be in excellent spirits, and sanguine hopes of this gallants officer's recovery are expressed. ' Communications to his Excellency, from Lieutenant Barclay and from Ensign J Campbell, are inserted in this paper, which injustice to th;se gentlemen, we will endeavour to copy into our next publication.

We are informed that naval and military assistance is expected to pour in soon, frora 1 every direction, in support of the settlers here and elsewhere.
