CYCLE ROAD RACING
THIRTY-MILE ROAD RACE TO- „ MORROW THE HANDICAPS DECLARED To-morrow, Saturday, the Waihi Cycling and Athletic Club will hold a 80-mile road cycle race, commencing from the Commercial Hotel at 9.30 a.m., the course being out to the top of Gordon's Hill and return, six laps. The early start was decided on in view of the Peace Cup Rugby match at Waitakaruru. Handicaps have been declared by Mr C Hewson as under: D. Kingsford, scratch; W._ Hewson, 3 mins; J. Bacon, 5 mins; L. Skinner, 6 mins; S. Jesney, 7 mins; W. Slaney and M. Skinner, 9 mins; N. Scott and E. Dye,. 11 mins; A. Sedgman, M. Brewer, P. Pascoe and T. McOarron, 15 mins; B. Bright and J. Stevens, lb mins.
Last Saturday members of the club spent a very enjoyable day in Auckland at the Waitemata club’s j inter-club race. The most success-! ful competitor from Waihi was D.
Kingsford, who once again showed good form to gain fastest time.
