Spirits in Country Hotels

An ex-licensee of a country hotel told the Licensing Control Commission that there was a great and long continued shortage of imported spirits (reports “The Waikato Times”). All country hotels experienced this, yet it was fairly common practice for city visitors to the country hotels to bring with them more than ample supplies of spirits, knowing that the country hotel could not supply them. He added that one city guest brought with him two cases of spirits for a limited stay.
