SERIOUS HEAD INJURIES

WAIHI WORKER IN WAIKINO BATTERY STRUCK BY DRIVING-BELT Very serious head injuries were suffered by Mi- John Richmond Buckeridge, an employee of the Mu'tha Gold Mining Co. (Waihi), Ltd., at the company's Victoria battery in Waikino just before 8 o'clock this morning. It is understood that Mr Buckeridge was working on one of the ciushers when his head came into contact with one of the clips on the driving-belt, throwing him heavily backwards.

Mr Buckeridge, who is a middleaged married man, living in Gilmour Street, Waihi, was admitted to the Waihi hospital.
