MEDIUM ENTRY OF CATTLE COMES FORWARD
VERY KEEN COMPETITION The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited reports having held its fortnightly stock sale at Waihi last Thursday, when a medium entry of cattle came forward to meet very keen competition at prices on a par with late sales. A line of store lambs was briskly competed for, whilst a good penning of fat pigs maintained late rates. Store pigs were yarded in full numbers, but here values were slightly easier. Quotations:— Cattle: Medium fat Jersey cows, •C 5 12s Gd to £G 10s; light, £4 15s to £5 10s; heavy boner cows, £3 14s to £4 14s; medium, £3 to £3 10s; light, £2 5s to £2 ,15s; heavy potter bulls, £8 to £9; medium, £(> to £7 ss; Jersey heifers, r.w.b., £1; Jersey calves,
29s to £2 14s. Sheep: Store wether lambs, 17s to ISs; smaller to 15s; maiden ewes, 18s 9d to 20s 3d.
Pigs: Prime topweight baconers, £4 4s to £4 Ss; heavy baconers, £3 19s to £4 3s; medium, £3 14s lo £3 17s; light, £3 8s to £3 12s; heavy porkers and buttermilk pigs, £2 19s to £3 4s; medium. £2 10s to £2 15s; light, £2 2s to £2 7s; choppers, £2 Is to £5; large store pigs, 37s to £2 Is; slips, 20s lo 23s Gd; wcaners, 7s Gd to 15s Gd.
