PROTEST TO GOVERNMENT
BILLS NOT SUBMITTED TO PUBLIC PROPOSED CENTRAL BANK By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN., this day. At a meeting of the council of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce last night it was resolved that this chamber protests most emphatically against the increasing habit of the Government in bringing before the House of Representatives most important Bills, such as the Central Reserve Bank Bill, without affording the public any previous opportunity of considering them. In effect the council also passed a resolution approving of the establishment of a Central Bank provided there are adequate safeguards to ensure that the management is free from bias or influences other than the economic considerations.
