RESUMING WORK
DECISION OP MILLFIELD COAL MINERS “RED” YOKE THROWN OFF Australian and K.Z. Cable. SYDNEY, Feb, 3.. At a special meeting of the Millfield Great Miners’ Lodge it was de-' cided to resume work to-day and to throw off the authority of the South Maitland rank and file conference. The miners were withdrawn from this mine in December as a result of a iiibbting at which the “Reds” were In control. Mr R. W. D. Weaver, Minister of Mines, on Saturday expressed the opinion that when peace is restored on the coalfields at least 5000 miners cannot be absorbed into the Industry again. It is estimated that unionists have contributed in levies, etc., to the idle miners on the northern coalfields since March, 1929, £1,3000,000. Of that sum £500,000 was contributed by miners who have worked throughout the dispute.
