STATE ADVANCES OFFICE By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, this day. The House of Representatives met at 7.30 last night. The Labour Bills Committee recommended that the Shops and Office Amendment Bill (McKeen) and the Workers’ Compensation Amendment Bill (Howard) should not be allowed to proceed in view of the official statement that the subjects would be investigated during the recess with a view to the introduction of Government legislation next session. The committee recommended .that the Shops and Offices Amendment Bill (No. 2) should be allowed to proceed. The House spent the remainder of the evening discussing the report on the State Advances Office and rose at 10.30 p.m.
