IMPRISONMENT FOR DEBT AMENDING BILL THROWN OUT By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, this day. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 yesterday afternoon. The Education Amendment Bill (Hon. G. M. Thomson) was reported from the Education Committee with amendments. The annual education report was discussed at some length, after which the Council rose until Wednesday next. In the House of Representatives the Statutory Revision Committee recommended that the Imprisonment for Debt Limitation Amendment Bill (Mr H. G. R. Mason) should not be allowed to proceed. The Urban Farm Lands Rating Bill was read a second time and referred to the Labour Bills Committee. The Local Authorities Empowering (aviation encouragement) Bill was read a third time and passed. The debate on the second reading 1 of the Summer Time Bill was adjourned and the House rose at 10.30 p.m.
