Eden was solved when Detective Power arrested a hotel porter, Alfred Carter (29) on a serious charge. The police state that the hoy answered an advertisement for a position which was to carry a wage of £1 a week and received a telegram asking him to keep an appointment in the city on Wednesday. The lad left his home for the purpose but did not return until 10 o’clock next morning. It is alleged that he accompanied the man to a hoardinghouse where they spent the night. Carter is to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of indecent assault on a male.
