ACADEMY THEATRE

GEORGE O’BRIEN AND MILTON SILLS

One of the finest programmes ever seen in Waihi will be screened at the Academy Theatre to-night. With two of the screen world’s most talented stars, George O’Brien and Lois Moran, playing the leading roles, “True Heaven” will be enjoyed. It is not a war story, but a stirring drama in which the war serves only as a background. “True Heaven” is filled with action and thrills and affords both O’Brien and Miss Moran opportunities to set forth their talents in a most convincing manner. Milton Sills, who always gives a picture far above the average, is respbnsible for a fine performance in “The Barker.” It is a great story of the circus and can be recommended. Dorothy McKail is also starred. A good comedy and the news will complete .the programme. The usual popular matinee will be held at 2.30 p.m. when “True Heaven,” the final episode of the serial and a comedy will be included in the programme. The entertainment for Monday and Tuesday will also be found high* ly enjoyable, no less than three features being included. Many of the most entertaining sequences that can occur in a motion picture are jammed into the new Reginald Denny vehicle, “The Night Bird." This comedy has everything that makes for laughter and all the ingredients of the entertainment pie. The photoplay is a comedy-drama or a romantic-comedy or a thrillcomedy and it is all rolled into one riotous picture. “Name the Woman,” the second feature, is a gripping drama woven round a murder trial. Anita Stewart and Gaston Glass are the stars. “The New Collegians’* will complete this great bill of fare, which will be screened at the usual prices. A special matinee will be held on Tuesday at 3.15 p.m.. Patrons should not miss these truly great programmes.
