CLOSE FINAL FOR WAIHI MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP, WIN FOR R. CULLEN Keen interest was taken by members in the final for the men’s championship of the Waihi Golf Club, which was played on Saturday afternoon in ideal weather, R. Cullen and F. C. V. Clark (captain.) being the contestants for the honour.
The form shown was good throughout, both playing sound golf, and the match, which is played over 27 holes, went the - whole distance, finishing by Cullen winning the 27th hole and the championship by 1 up. Another round for the club cup was also played, resulting in F. C. V. Clark gaining 5 points and winning the trophy. Rollett gained 3 points, Morgan and T. Clarke tieing for third and fourth place. On Saturday next Canadian foursomes will be played, players to choose partners and opponents.
