FARMERS’ COMPANY'S FORTNIGHTLY REPORT MUTTON PRICES EASIER The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company (Hamilton) reports on district stock sales for the past fortnight as follows: Beef: Although the market is firm there has been no rise, due, no doubt, to the good yardings coming forward. % Best prime ox made 36/- per lOOlbs, and prime cow and heifer 32/6. Fat Sheep; The market has been slightly easier, more particularly for .wethers than ewes and hoggets. - Store Sheep: A good demand still exists for ewes in lamb and wethers and hoggets are at good prices. Store Cattle: The yardings have been small, chiefly forward and store cows and yearling heifers, with a good demand for all classes. Dairy Cattle: There is a strong demand for all breeds of spiinging heifers with butterfat backing; also J .good tested herds are meeting with competition. During the last foithight we have held a number of special heifer clearing sales, and competition has been keen throughout. Pigs: The yardings are smallei, • with a good demand for baconers •0’ and porkers, the latter class having taken a considerable rise in values.
