COMING CONFERENCE
MR MASSEV'S ATTENDANCE URGED BY MR BONAR LAW. SESSION EARLIER THAN USUAL. Bv 'telegraph.—Press Association. WELLINGTON, this day. Thei Priime Minister has recenerf from Mr Bonnr Law, Prime Minister of Britain, a cablegram strongly urging him to attend the Imperial Conference, if possible. Mr Masscy announced yesterday afternoon that it was intended to convene Parliament a litt'e for'ier than usual, in order that "members might consider how New Zealand should be represented at the conference.
Mr Boaiar Law's cablegram stated: "In view of the importance of the subjects to be discussed, particularly foreign relation s and defence, I should like to urge you to come t« London this autumn if you possibly can. I feel veiy strongly that the conference would greatly benefit by your wide experience and knowledge, and, apart i<om this, the absence of New Zealand's Prime Minister cannot r.ut detract from its representative character."
3he Prime Minister is not yet propared to announce the date of the fusion. As, however. Parliament wouhl ir.ept it the. ordinary course about tho last Thursday in Juno, it must be bofore then. Mr Masscy (would be in Britain in time for the conference if he sailed from New Zealand about the beginning of September.
