WEEKLY REPORT OF FARMERS' COMPANY. BETTER DEMAND FOR BEEF. The Waikato Farmers’ Auctioneering Company reports for the past week as follows: There is a slight improvement m the demand for beef, although values have not appreciably advanced!. Homo reports do not justify any optimism in the export branch, but it is fairly certain tliat local values will harden before long. Mutton is advancing rapidly and good prospects aro assured. Supplies' have not been shorter at this period for a number of years. Grown store cattle are quite as dpll a s over, and until beef improves may bo expected to so continue, Tho market for aft classes of store sheep is exceedingly firm, and there scem s no possibility of satisfying the present demand, especially for wethers. Good sales of pigs are reported from ajl centres. According to weight-Bheet 3 values for fat pigs work out at about 53<]i to 6d per lb. We quote as follows: Bullocks, heavy prime, £6 10s to £7 10s, medium £5 10s to £6; cows, heavy, £4 to £4 15s, medium £2 10s to £3, forward £1 10s to £2; steers, Sj-yeaij best, £3 10s to £4, 2s-year, best, £2 10s to £3; heifers, R.W.B., £5 to £7 10s'; cows, stores, 15s to £1 7s 6d; steers. 18-months, host, £1 15s to £2 12s, medium £1 5s to £1 12s 6d; heifers' R.W.8., 18 months, best, £4 10s to £6; heifers, empty, 18 months, £1 15s to £3; calves, heifers, best, £1 to £1 7b Gd; calves, steers, best, 17 s Gd to £1 ss; wethers, prime, heavy, 22s Gd) to 255. medium 20s to 28s Gd; caves, prime. 16s to 20s; wethers, 4-tooth, store, 15s Gd to 16s Gd, 2-tooth 14s to los; breeding ewes. 2-tooth, R.W. rams, 16 s 'to 18b ; breeding ewes, 4-6-tooth, R.
