OBITUARY
EARL ST. GERMANS,
Australian and N.Z. Cable,
(Received 5 a.m.) CAPETOWN, April 4. The death is announced of Earl) St Germans at Johannesburg.
John Granville Eliot, the sixth earl, of the line, was 31 years of age, having been born on Juno 11, 1890. He succeeded to the title in 1911, and married in 1918 Lady Blanche Somerset, daughter of the Duke of Beaufort, two daughters surviving. He joined the British army on the outbreak of the great war, and served until 1917, when he was so severely wounded that he wa_s invalided out of the forces, being awarded the Military Cross for valorou s services.
