OBITUARY

THE REAL G. B. MONRO, OF AUCKLAND.

AUCKLAND, this -day

The death is announced of the Rev. G. B. Monro, aged 73 years. Deceased was for forty years minister of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Eemuera, up till 1918, when ho retired.

The Kev. Monro was born at Fraserburgh, Scotland, in 1818, and was educated at the public school in that town and at Glasgow University. Prior to envering the ministry he was a school teacher. After carrying on missionary work in Scotland for ten years, he came to New Zealand, and was ordained in St. Luke's Church, Eemuera, in July, 1877.
