The Polish Defence Council has summoned the people to rally to the flag, and thousands of volunteers are now flocking to the colours.

The 'whole nation, including many women, is responding to Pilsudski's call | to arms, and General Bailer is organising the volunteers. M. Grabski, has left for Spa to lay Poland's future before the A'jlies, and to appeal for assistance. The Bolsheviks forced" back the Poles on a wide front between the Dvina, and Beresina. The northern wing is now Hearing Lithuania. Exceptionally violent fighting is proceeding northwards of Pripet River. The Bolshevik cavalry in South-eastern Galicia are pursuing rapidly, and have cut the communicar tion between K'ovno and Koveil. The Poias are successfully resisting on the Ukrainian sector.
