The railwaymein have applied for a,n • all-round increase o'l £1 per week, apart |ft'om the increases from the sjlidijng 6cale. The executive of the National ITnicJii of Railwayman state 'that general dissatisfaction with the small increase uinder the sliding scalc x exists, as it is inadequate to meet the extra cost of living. Moreover, the Court of Inquiry' -Wuth reference to the dockers recommend , a minimum of 16s per day, and miners have been offered a minimum increase of 2s per day.
