It will be of interest to many of the public l*o learn that it is now Intended by the three Governments concerned—namely, Great Britain, Australia, and Now Zealand—to take over 'not only the Island of Nauru, but also the Pacific Phosphate Company’s interests in Ocealn Island. This means that the company’s business at the two islands mclaI tinned, together with the whole of the 1 plant and machinery, will be taken over as a goivig concern.. It is hoped that tli transAr will take place about July I j next. The arrangement, when completed, will ensure a supply of phosphates to New Zealand producers for centuries to come. The above statement is issued with the authority cf the Prime Minister.
