TRANSFER OF TERRITORY

AUCKLAND, this day

The dispute between the Ohinemuii and Piako counties, regarding the proposed transfer ol territory, including Otway, Elstow, and Springdale districts, to the Piako County, was dealt with 'at Te Aroha by a commission consisting of Messrs Skeet, Commissioner of Crown Lands (chairman), Murray, and Wallis. After hearing argument the comm s> sion adjourned to allow the parties to confer, with the result that an agreement was arrived at, giving Piako all tho territory, up to the Tirohta-iahura Road. The commission complimented the parties on tho agreement, and intimated that it would m-iko its recommendation to the Governor-General In due course.
