DEATH OF HONE HEKE

By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. Hone Heko, who has represented the Northern Maori district in Parliament sinco 1893, died in a private-'hos-pital at Wellington this morning from tubercular hemorrhage; aged 40 years.

Hone Hoke, M.P., was born at Kaikohe. Day of Islands, in 1869. Tic was_ educated at Kawakawa, Oromahoe native school and St. Stephen's native school, Auckland. In 1891 ho entered tho Government servico as a clerk in tho Nativo Land Court office, Wellington. Ho resigned in 1892 to tako up the leadership of the Maori Federated Tribes of New Zealand. Ho introduced the Native Rights Bill in 1894. In 1893 ho was elected to the Hoiiso for the Northern Maori district.
