THE MIKADO
On Wednesdiiy evening next, in (J lO Academy of Music, the Waihi Amateur Opera Club will give their final peroritiance in lVaihi of Gilbert and {Jullvan s popular comic opera ' Tho Mikado. Tho last performances given by tin. club met with great success, the Academy being packed to tho doors with an appreciative audience. Dr. jMucko,who was present at tho hist rehearsal, spoke in high praise, saying it was tho finest performance by amateurs he had over witnessed. The Auckland Observer also comments on tho production by saying that the Wiiihi Amateur Opera Club can give a considerable beating to the Auckland amateurs, and that the performance fell little- short of the professional standard. Tho box plan is now open at Woodbam's, and those who intend seeing tho performance should hook their seats without' delay and save disappointment. Tho prices are 3s, 2s, and Is.
