Eire Brigade Station, of the Auckland £ 7 United Firo Brigade Association, The gathering Inoluded tLo President of tho Association, Captain Williams (Mount Eden), Captain Brown (Waibi), Captain Oowan (Parnell), Mr 0,8. Collins (seoretfy], Captain Barrett (Ooromandel), Mr J, Champion (secretary), Mr Houghton (seoretsry Aroh Hill Brigade), Fireman Bateman (Thames 1 , Fireman Jane (taoont Eden), and Fireman Jones, who aoted as proxy for Whangarei. The seoretsry, Mr Collias, in rofotrlog to the progress of tho Association, said that slnoe the last annual moeting of delegatoß they had received muoh encouragement, and he nan pleased to report that another goldfields' bilgade—namely, the Earanga- - , hake brigade—hid joinod the Association, ' In the meantime several other brigades bad been invited to join, One of these, the Hamilton brigade, had replied that the matter was being hold in abeyanoe, In reference to the Gladding memorial
II was pointed out that there was a shortage of £5, and that in order to make up . ibe dofioienoy it \would bs neoossary to PJike a levy of lis on eaoh of the brigades guaranteeing the memorial tablet. Ihe tablet in question had been placed in St, Matthew's Ohuroh 10 oommemorate the death of Fireman Gladding, who lost bis life in Morrin'e ironmongery fire, and had been unveiled in February last in the presence of the members of the Association, It was resolved that a levy of llebestruok. In connection with nnaffllated brigade, it was resolved that all unaffiliated briaides be asked to join the association. FA credit of £7 12) 4d was shown on the balance-sheet, which was read and adopted,

In dealing with the reply from the Hon, W, Hall-Jones, acknowledging the letter of oondolenoe in connection with the death Jpf the late Premier it was resolved that the "ommunicatlon be framed and preserved, Fireman Batsman, delegate from the Thames Brigade, moved that programmes be sent to tbo brigades at least two months prhr to the running of events, the executive having power to suspend same in the event of the Uni'ed Ass-oiatlon's programme not coming to hand ia time .The mover pointed out that delays in issuing programmes frequently ooonrred, and often caused inconvenience, as it allowed of no time for praotice. The mollon was landed.
Ex-Captain Strode (past president) was elected a lifo member, After some disouseion it was decided that the points for ihe shield count in the following order:—Five mon events! Ten for first, six for seoond, and three for third, Three men events; Eight for first, five for Beoond, and two for third. To-day the Auckland Dis'rlot Unred Fire Brlgadea'.Aesbola£l on demonstration is being hell on the Secretion Reserve. There is a splendid gathering, and keen interest ji being taken in the various events. In • eluded in those proeeDt are visitors from Faeron, Tbame!, Karangahake, Te Arohn, Ooromandel, and Waikino.
