Thodefericp'further accused plaintiff of seduction at Tiniavu, and of cohabiting with a native woman, and paid 20j into tho Court as soffloiont damages.
Plaintiff, in the witnoss box, denied that he cohabitedai ullogod, and as to e'eduction said ho was acensedof it, and went to Timaru with Mr.'T. E. Taylor and others to inquire into it, Asked if be had satisfied them, ho said ho did not 'attempt to do so, ami never asked thotn, Ho deniod ,tbnt bcoiinso ho failed ho hadti'discoatiiiuo working for tho temperance party, nor was il booauso of this, ho wont to Tasmania;. Evidcnoo was given as to' this incident, and by some natives as to plaintiff's relations with a Maori girl, and tho jury returned a verdiot for AT damages,, Tho question of costs was reserved.
