' Prißoner's defenoe, his Honour declared, .was based on the hope of patting 'the sympathy of tjio jury. ; . Prisoner had added to his offence the crimes of penary and forgery, and made of his defence a proater moral .offenoo than his orime. His proeedure was quile . sufficient to 'caufle His Honor to disregard the question of whether ho was entitled to probation. He would bo' sent to prison for twelve months, with hard labour.
