Tins Presbyterian General Assembly yes terday received a deputation from the Auckland Ministers' Association, which eulogised the service rendered by the Presbyterian Church in home mission work and the higher eduoation. Tho Assembly redprooated the- fraternal groetingii, The Assembly has out down travelling expenses, and appointed a tro-wurer at ;£BSO, with a junior 'olerk at £SO, the former to be a ministor of the Church and .stationed iii Wellington, As about £ISOO a yrar is required for expenses, tho levy on the income of the church has been incroaaed from Bfto6 per,ient. The Eov. J, B, Munroo, of St Luke's, Auckland, has been nominated as the next moderator. - -.Later.', Balloting for tbo election of a minister to fill tho newly-oreaied office of treasurer, with a salary of £BSO por 'annum, took place at the Pre'byteriau General, Assembly to-day, Tho successful candidate was tho BeV. ,W. T. Cowrie, of Hastings.
