During the course of tho recent inqniry into tho charges mado by tho Now Liberal Party regarding an allogod improper payment to Captain Bcddon, it was potically alleged thjt tho audit system, if judgod by what took place at tho investigation, was defective, and left it open for fraud to bo perpetrated. Besides, a snggostion was made that thoro was not a complete chock on the payuionts of public raonoy. Mr Seddon now announces that he will set the matter at rest ouco and for all. The Government ha 3 decided to appoint throo Judges to hold an inquiry into the allegations. The inquiry is to be public, and all partios maybe represented by oounsolif they bo dosiro. He deprecated very strongly tho sjstoin of politioal warfare by which a man was attacked through liis family. It was the. duty of Parliamont to jealously guard the fair fame of their public men.
