Accused ao* costed Mr Gillain in Queen-street arid asked him for tho orice of a meal. The clergy, uan refused, becauso accused sroelldd of liquor. On accused persisting, Mr Gillam gave him in cliarge,. In tho Court Mr Gillam said, "Itis impossible for a clergyman to pass down Queen-street without being accosted by beery mendicants liko this. Tho thing has bccouio almost intolerable, This has been a severe winter, audthero is much distress in tho city, and clergy arc hard put to meet necessitous cases; and men of ibis chnractor are stopping the flow of chaiily,"
