A feature of the attendance was the prosraco.of so many ■lady spectators, wholook a lively in.orost in the progress of the Altogether there were between two and three hundred present, and the general, enthuaiasm shown was an indication of the ploasuro experienced imwatchmg the play. • The visitors arrived by spocial coacrnon Monday ofteruoon, and Avere met by the representatives of; the Waihi Ladies Hockey Olub and taken .to Meyer s Ho el, where tbey were entertainod ss guests ot the club. During the forenoon of the follow ing day they were shown round to View the different interests ra.the town, and early in the afternoon were conveyed in a brake to the hockey ground. Notwithstanding these advantages tbo local players showed up well in individual play, and at times played with great dash, *.' Shortly after resuming play, two mpro ■'':' goals were recorded in favour of the 1 visitors, indirectly resulting from a series of clever passing lrts, Binnrlly converted Bnd in quick succossion, by Miss Winnie Adams. Later on in the game, another goal was scorod for the visitors by Miss EyaJAdanis, who after some hard work succeeded in shooting the ball at close quarters between tho posts. ' 0 It was-an interesting and exciting gamo throughout, and though a good victory resulted for the visitors, with more praotiqo we haye liVle fear that tho Waihi toam will give a good account ol themselves in fatuio matohos. THE SOCIAL In the ovoning tho guests woro entertained at a social in tho Miners' Union Hall, at which there wore over two hundred present. Excellent music was supplied by Messrs, S. Paul (piano), E, Koano (piccolo), Sharkey (violin), and Sbarman (cornet), Daring the evening songs were contributed by Miss McKenzio and JMiss Newdick. Tho function was a pronounced success, all present onjoying themselves thoroughly.
