.WATHI GRAND JUNCTION

Recent files of the London Mining Jour, ml, whioh have come to band by the 'Frisco mail,'contains amongst the cabled mining news an interesting report of the development and values of the two reefs in the No.:8 level of the Grand 1 Junotion mine..; The report in question was cabled on the. 23rd June, and appeared in the issue of MLoridon Miniag Journal of 24th June., The report, in effect, was as follows:—In the No. 8 level the Martha or ■No. 1 lode,, to the east of the cross-cut [running direct the'Waihi Exteded boundary] was drifted on for 151 feet, and at this point the' exposed width was 5 feet inches, of un average value in tbo face of 1218 a per ton. The same lode west of the dross-out was drifted on far 135 feet, and the exposed width was 6 feet 3 inches, of a value in the face of SA 3s, In the same level (No. 3) the No. 2, lode had been drifted on for a distance of 247 feet, the exposed width of the lode being 4 feet libch, and the average value &\ 15s. ', This is the same lode, it may be mentioned, that the Extended intersected at a higher level, and tbe one which the Grand Junction connectod with at their No, 2 level, The distance separating the point reached on the reef and the Extended boundary is approximately 340 feet. We understand that both the reefs in the Junction are trending rather more to the north, and that so decided was the bend of the No. 1 reef a short time back that it was thought it would junction with {he- No. 2 lode, but its course has since come back somewhat.
