Aeising out Oi a pea rifle accident- in an Auckland suburb February sth the boy 14 years of age, named Samuel Wilkinson was charged at tbe Police Court with having, by culpable negligence, caused actual bodily harm to Lewis Winniger, another boy 14 years of age, under such circumstances that hud death taken place he would have been liable for manslaughter. The evidence showed that the boys spent the afterernoon in shooting, and than accused, without any intention of aiming, pushed Winniger back with the muzzle of therifle and the weapon went off, causing an injury from which Winniger has now recovered. • It is thought that the bullet is still in his body. The caso is proceeding.
