London, June 9 A private telegram from Manchuria which has reached St Petersburg contains the startling intelligence that the Japanese have occupied Omoso, 75 miles east of Kirin. This indicates that they must have crossed the Turnen far inland, evading the Russian outposts.

The capture implies tho severance of communication between Kirin and Ninguta, thus placing the Japanese within striking distance of the railway between-Harbin and Vladivostok,
