In the courso of an address by the Mayor of Auckland at the thirteenth annual meeting of St. John's Ambulance Association, His Worship said that the dissemination of gcntral information as to tho preliminary traatuiont of the sick and wounded, was one which commended itseifto all. Doubtless it was often true that a little knowledge was a dangerous thing, but there were oasts in which total ignorance wii3 much more dangerous, Many Tivos had bo'en needlessly sacrificed, much suffering needlessly endurcJ, for want of thtt liitlo knowledge which the association nimed at impariini;, ,Tbe nowspupors only recßpily recorded the sad death of a young Auckland sportsman, whose life a little elementary knowWiio would, have saved, and this was but one instance-out of many, The association was mititlcd to tho support of any comriiunuy in which it carrieion its operations.
