Mr. Bcrns was duly in»tallcd as Mayor ot tho Thavnos yostorday, The retiring Mayor, Mr, Troinbath, who coatestod the eleotion with Mr. Burns, congratulated the hitter on his victory, and trusted that the cordial support of tho councillors would be extended' to Mr. Burns in the future, as it hud beon accorded lo his pre* Accessor. Mr. Ttcmbath complimented the official and clerical staffs and other borough omployoes upjn the oxoellenco of their work. Mr Burns, in replying, thanked the retiring Mayor for his kindly remarks and the Council for the cordial manner in which they promised to support , his efforts. A pleasant social function followed, when the healths of the Mayor aiid retiring Mayor were honoured,
