Rifle Matches
On Saturday last the members of the No. 5 Ohinemuri Rifles fired the third competition for Mr Williams' shield, Corporal Comes proving the winner, with a fine score of 89 The shield ia to be won ihree times in succession or five times at intervals before it becomes the property of a competitor. The previous winners were Private SSamson and Lanc9-Corp. Mages. The scores were as follows :
MATCH NEXT SATURDAY On Saturday next, April 29th, the two companies, No. 2 Ohinemuri Rifles and Waibi Rifles, will fire the second competition for Porier and Co's trophy, a sporting rifle. Ranges 500 and 700 yards, 10 shots at each range. The handicaps may be seen in Mr Morgan's window.
