Monthly Meeting. The asnal monthly meeting of the Waihi .4 School Ooruuiittee was held last night at' ' • the schoolroom, Present: Messrs. H. '( ' MeCatthny (chairman), J, Henderson (soorotary), J. Nswth, H. Hartley, Peroy G, Morgan, J. Newdick, and C. Goodridge. " > The outward andinwsrdcorrespondence was read and approved, Acoounts to the amount of £l9 10s 2d ;' wore passed for paymsnt, ' -. The, Secretary read the balance-sheet and draft report for the year ending 31st March. ' The report 'was approved and adopted. It was resolved to advertise the time for the closing of nominations for the committee, The Bocrotßry oftho Education Board wrote as follows:—Sir, in answer to your letter dated the 20th instant, I am '.directed to inform you that the only fund at ! the disposal of the Board for relieving fceaohers is applied to the purpose of employing teaohera to relieve members of \ the teaching staff who, through illness or other oapßß, are unable to perform their school duties. The Waihi school is graded upon the yearly average attendance for 1904 (551) for a staff of seven assistants andfivo pnpil-teachers. Before an additional pupil-teacher oan be ■ appointed il is necessary (1) ettfaor thnt the 'yoarly avorage attendance shall reach a minimum of 561; or (2) that the average attendance ' shall have reached 610 for one qu'irter,- or 690 for two quorfa-i, or 580 for three quarters (aeo clause 2 (.I) of the Kegula- '; \tiotiß Under tha Pubic School Teaohers' Salaries Act.—The letter was received. • ! >'.'' .
