Burglary at Railway Station

Thb Amberely railway station, thirty foot' miles north of Cbrietohurcb, was broken into on Saturday night, two safes being dynamited and £9O in notea, gold, and stiver, and £9O worth of postal notes being stolen. The telegraph wires were cot a short distance south of Arnberly, bat were repaired on Sunday morning by th'o linemen on duty, and spare transmitters having been attached, information was telephoned to Chrisichurob, LiTKB, la oonneotion with theAmberley station 'robbery, holes were drilled in the. safes, and the locks were blown out with gelignite, Mats, ousbions, and carpets had been collected to deaden the sound, Three strangers have been hawking, the district during the week, and a man who answers to the deßoription of one of them hired a horse and oart at Ohristohurch on Saturday, which he returned yeeterday. Be was ar - rested last night, but none of the stolen property was found in his possession.
