A Huge Blaze
Eight Million Feet of Timber Endangered
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Whangarei, this d-y. The Kauri Timber Co.'s Kahakaharoa bush, near the Kauri railway, station, contnining eight million feet of green kauri is on fire. A gang of men, with Mr. Nick;: stry the local manager at their head are endeavoring to subdae the fire but with little success. The fire was a fine sight last night. Tneir are volumes of smoke arising this morning. A very dry spel has lately being experienced here.
