THE PREMIER'S VISIT
TO THE EDITOB
Sir,—Re the Premier's visit to Waihi : Where does the Mayor and Borough Council come in ? I suppose they will be found waiting, as they were at the Band reception. I notice Messrs. King, Jteonaldson, Foster, Slevio, and Co.. with the assistance Df the Mayoress and ladies of Waihi are ■making arrangements to welcome the Pre-: inier with a social and tea fight etc. It is a giand idea, and if yours truly can beg, borroW or steal two '■ bob" he will be there, as it will be a sight for the Gods to see the Right Honourable Dick and Sir Joseph presiding at a "ban worry" aid feasting on sponge cake and smoky tea. No cigars, ho whisky, and no champagne. Only fancy being behind the scenes after it is ail over, when the deputations call upon King Dick for favours to be granted for the benefit of this district. D.ck with that bohevolent look of hi 3 will smile a smole and" hint that as they appear to be able to run things on economical lines it would be foolishness to spend public money in a district that knew so well how to do things at a cheap rate, especially as the Borough has«»uch a princely revenue from the gold d>%£y? Whoa ! hold your horses and do not" drive so fust. Only two bob admittance to the Premier's " bun worry." \Vhy not have a picrr'c to Hoi.is' bush, and cujl it si garden .party ? There is a lot in a tony name, you know. So mole it be.—l am. etc., Thh Orphan.
