No doubt, thero we;e sonin mistakes made, somo things which might luvvo btcn dono betttr, but let'mo ask thoso who feel ony way aggrieved to suspend iheir judgment and to remembor thai both your humble servant and his committee aro "now cliumb" at tho work. Tho best way to gain knon'Wgo ie by experience; nnd I think I Uiuy sufoly say that tho rectifica* tion of the faults which wo now sco will tend to make the next show oven a greater success than the one just pnsaod and enablo us to build upon the present small foundation a society which will bo a boon and a credit to Waihi. I feol quito suro that tho exhibition of vegetable and flows (and also tho industrial exhibits) both by thoir quality and quantity cama as a decided surprise to all thoso who entered tho Academy on Saturday, and that your prediction in your leudor of tho 11th that- the old cry. that "nothing will grow in Waihi" would be utterly falsified was completely fulfilled. 1 should a.so wish to thank all thoso ladies and gentkmon who liava so kindly given us help (pecuniary or otherwise), aud last but by no means loast let mo thank you Mi Editor also, for tho generous publicity-which p havo given us which llolpeu largely to our success, Trusting that our faults may bo viewed leniontly, and that all may keep a good look out for our second Annual Show and prepare to enter into competition at tho same.—l am, ets,, Hkrbkrt H.
