Chmstohoboh, this day, Tub Government has dooided to call for tenders foe the construction of the Maka-tutonga-Makatuto v.aduot for the North Island Main Truuk railway, about midway on tho uncompleted portion of tho line. This viaduot, it is considered, will probably bo the mid* way point; on the lino as at present standing, and whoa it is completed it is expeotod that the line will be ready from both ends, and that through conuection will be established. Tenders will be called outside the colony, as well as withi nits cuulines,
