WAIHI EXTENDED MINE

PROGRESS ON THE REEF At tho time that tbo reef was intorsected in the Waihi Extended mine, it was thought by the company that the point of intersection was within a foot or two of tho boundary line of the Grand Junction. A few days ago a survey was made by Mr. M, F, Haszard allowing tho relative position of the companies' properties. Facilities for surveying were affordod by tho connection of tho working levels of both mines, The rcsultof tho survey showed that iho Waihi Extended, instead of intersecting the roef a few ieot from the boundary line, cut it about 30 feet from tho •Junction boundary. The drivo on tho course of the reef is being continued, and tho ore in the faco continues to maintain its oncouraqiug appearauco. At an early date it is intended, wo understand, to cross cut on the reef to tho hanging well, The liino for sinking a winze on the rcof has not yetbeon fixed, but the work will probably be put in hand soon,
