AUCKLAND 3CRATCHINGS. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 23. Delight and Surveyor were scratched at 11.30 this morning for the Railway Handicap air-tlie Auckland B.C. meeting.. By "ACHILLES.” Racing at Ashhurst to-morrow. Nominations for the Dannevitke meeting close on Thursday. The Takapuna meeting will be concluded to-morrow.
The acceptances received for the Ashhnrst meeting are very large, and some hne racing should be witnessed tomorrow.
Esperance/ will have to carry 7.9 in the' Cup, having incurred a 10lb penalty as the result of her win at Levin. She will be one of the most fancied oandi< dates.
Rose Pink, 9.0, hag top weight in the Cup, but she is not overburdened in the company she will be meeting, and. is likely to run a good race. Mias* maid, 8.0, is also nicely weighted, and these two should keep Esperance very busy. ‘ Manhattan is in the Hurdles at 10.3, a weight. which will nob trouble the big Maniapoto gelding if he ■is well on the day. He is said to be doing good work. Birkeiivale reads nicety with only 9,8. Master Boris is also likely to do well over the mile and a half.
If Silver Link can reproduce anything like her best form she will keep the opposition very busy in the Pohangina Handicap, in whibh Eekanui ia not badly placed at 7.11. _ Hymarty ■ ia engaged in the Hack Plying at 8.11, in which Tigrin^-had 5.3 §nd Stutter 7.9. There is a big held engaged, and' it ought to be 'a -good race. Martian Miss will probably be the most fancied in the Komako Hack, but Blackhead, on the same mark, is also very slippery. Amber Tips, 8.2, will only need to get- a good run to worry the best of them, as he can gallop very fast. He is also in the Gorge Hack with 8.9, the same weight as Mimire, .while Admiration is on the 7.12 mark, and is sure to command the attention of backers. ! ,
Vasilkov has been left in the Eaimai Welter, in which Mr W. E. Kemball also has Hekanui engaged. Gold Problem is in at 7.11 V
