BRICKLAYERS’ CONFERENCE

SITTING CONCLUDED. The Bricklayers’ Conference concluded on Saturday. Several important matters were discussed and a recommendation from the Wellington Union was . carried as follows: —“That in. order, that solidarity obtain throughout the building -trades,' all federations be disbanded with a view to constitute one Federation of its Building Trades;-that a recommends-; tion be made to the affiliated unions to raise their contributions; that .in view of the abnormal cost of things in every direction it is necessary that the funds of the federation should be kept in a high state of efficiency.” The conference was brought to a close with a hearty vote of thanks to the Wanganui Union and to the secretary for their cordial welcome and entertainment.
