The burglars who broke into Mr Sam Irwin’s shop in the Avenue last week have confessed! to a friend that one of them stood on the other’s shoulders to see the time. He glanced through the fanlight of the shop, saw how good the stocks were, ' and found them irresistible. Of course, the attractiveness of the stocks does not excuse the crime, but one has only to see them to know how overwhelming the temptation must have 1-een.
