TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND
A BUSINESS ENTERPRISE.
A personally conducted tour of New Zealand is a business venture'now being made, by Mr Edward W. Gray, and the first party sails by the Mantua on the Bth October (says the Post’s London correspondent). Mr . Gray intended to initiate, his. scheme last year,, but owing to shipping restrictions it was found impossible. After spending a few days in each of the Australian capitals; the party wjll proceed to New Zealand, landing either at Auckland or Wellington, and then travel south to Invercargill. The itinerary will include the Southern Lakes, Dunedin, Christchurch, the West Coast, Buller. Gorge, Nelson, Wellington, Napier, the Thermal District, Waitomo Caves, and finally Auckland, The return voyage, by way of the Panama, will be made in the Ruahine, which is timed to reach London about the middle of April, and the inclusive total cost of the tour is set down at £750.
The names of those forming the party are as follows Mrs Romieu, Mr A. H. Dymond, Mr J. B. Gilley, Mr W. H. Kenyon, Mr and Mrs Sumner, Mrs A. M. Lanza, Miss Glendinning, Mr and Mrs Holden, the Rev. Mr Hanson, Mrs Diepenheim, Mr - and Mrs West, Mr Milne,- Mrs Mundell, Miss Barlow, Miss A. L. Elmslie, and Mr Edward W. Gray. It is the intention of the promoter of this scheme to repeat the tour each year and also to arrange to bring a party hack each March from New Zealand and Australia to tour Great Britain, the -hatlefields and parts of the Continent.
