RAILWAY WAGES

WELLINGTON, Nov. 3,
The Railways Committee has deleted from the Railway Amendment Bill tho authority to pay a special allowance to machinists working important machines. They are prodded for in a schedule where, under sub-class 4, appears ,a new classification: Machinists (special), 17a per day. The wage of cleaners, 22 of over, is increased from 14s 6d to 15s pet day.
