WOMAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION A SON AEBESTED, (Per Uuitcfi Press Association.) Auckland; Nov. a Suffering from a largb wound on the top of her head; Mr# Norah Stearpoint was admitted to. the Auckland Hospital to-day frod'Henderson. She was un'conscious when admitted, and it not expected to live. As the result of inform StiCi* received the police proceeded' to Henderson and found Mrp Steafpdint lying on the noOr of, the kitchen. She was unconscious, with blood flowing from a wound in Bet head. Close to thn-body were a small axe and a broom. The blade of the axe was covered with blood. The condition of the room indicated that a struggle had taken place. Examination of the wound revealed the fact that the brain had been penetrated* and that the woman was in a most critical condition. v The police Arrested Frederick Arnold Stearpoint in connection with the affair. He is 23 years of age and a son of the deceased. From a statement he has made, it is believed he had a quarrel Adth his mother. He appeared in the Court this afternoon charged tvith causing actual bodily harm, add was remand #L. ‘ -
