Mr EL B. Fletcher has been re-elected the Wanganui County representative on the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. The death occurred at Bulla on Monday, /of Mr Dan Goughian at the ripe .old age of 82 years. Mr Coughlin had been confined to his oed for several months and piassed peacefully away on Friday evening. 'He was one of thp pioneers of Bulls, haying been there for over 52 years, during - which period he was always, a prominent figure in public affairs. He was at bpe time a member of Bulls Town Board, and at the time of his death was the vicepresident and a life member of Eangitikei Racing Club, a member of the Oddfellow’s Lodge, Feilding Racing Club and the' Licensing Committee. In the early days he was employed by the* late Mr James Bull carting timber to Wanganui. Following this ihe entered easiness on his own account and! conducted a livery stables, in which capa-' city ho was about.-the first to carry the mails to Greatfbrd. He agitated greatly for the new bridge over the Rangitikei River and was always an, advocate of. Liberal principles. He was also a prominent member of the Catholic Church.
